When painting it's important to consider the type of rollers that you are going to use. A nap is the thickness of the roller and a short name is used for a fine texture and a long nap is used for a larger texture. A shorter one holds less paint and a larger one holds more. Most painters use the average length size of nine inches but sometimes you have large projects with big rooms and your only using one color so you can go with a fourteen inch roller or even a eighteen inch roller. This saves on time and makes you more productive. The only thing that is bad is that it will weigh more and it might make your shoulder sore.

Getting a good quality brush is very important. The tip of the brisles short be very smalll and feathered tips work best. This means that there will be less brush strokes with means that you wont have to go over it again and again.

I typically go for a satin/polyester brush for performance and durability and I find that works best when using latex painters. A china bristle brush in meant for oil paints.

Many people do not know that you can also use a airless paint sprayer to get larger projects done faster. I typically onle do one coat with a airless because if you want a nice finish you need to roll that on most times. The downside to using on is that you have to cover everything up including furniture, taping windows and cabinets because there can be quite a bid of overspray.

When I start painting I use high end tools because they save me time and money in the long run. Innitially people want to buy the cheapest things because they think that they are going to save money but reall that is not the case.

Another must have tool is a industral grade extendable pole and this will save your time and make you more productive.
