Conversion of the sun's solar energy into electrical

1. The list of materials are as the following: half square feet per copper flashing sheets (around $5 per sq ft), 2 liter clear plaster water container, 2 tablespoon salt, 2 alligator clip leads, sand paper or wire brush attached to electric drill, electric stove, micro-ammeter, tap water and metal sheers for cutting the copper sheets.

2. By means of the metal sheers, cut the copper sheet. Use gloves when doing this for the sharp sides can injure the hands and this will also prevent the body oils and acid from sweating hands getting on the sheet which can result to corrosion. Cut the sheet to around a few millimeters larger than the burner on the electric stove.

3. Eradicate corrosions/sulphides from the copper sheets by brushing them off using the wire brush or sandpaper. Turn on the electric stove to the highest setting and place the cut sheet on top of it.

4. The metal is then corroded from the burner's heat as you will try to view its color. As the color turns black, the coating of black cupric oxide develops upon examination. Make sure to get that coating thick by leaving the copper flashing sheet cooking for one more hour. Let cool unhurriedly on top of the burner after turning off the stove.

5. When the sheets try to cool down, you can also witness the thick black coating starting to chip off. After it totally cooled down, flush the black coat on the copper sheet using running water but never try to flex or rub. Only use the pads of your hand to stay away from damage on the metal.

6. Leave a huge opening of the 2 liter plastic container by cutting the neck off. A new copper flashing sheet should be made, with accurately the same size as the heated one. Bend the sheets together so they can without difficulty get into manipulated the mouth and either sides of the bottle. Never let the metal sheets converge.

7. Try to assign an alligator clip to each copper sheet. Connect the new sheet onto the positive station of the micro-ammeter and the heated sheet to the negative terminal.

8. The tap water is then heated and the salt is then dissolved. Pour the salt solution into the bottle but place enough room that a part of the plates are still left above water. Put under the sun and observe the ammeter charge go up. Congratulations, you had just assemble your own solar panel for your home.
