The frightened front window dresser turned it off and grescilla, soaked in moisture and fear, came out and rushed to the vet, who warned her that she might not survive.
After a night\'s drip-and £ 500 vet bill-Gracie is back to health, but is now afraid of washing machines.
Jackie said: \"I recognized the cat at once, but I don\'t know where it came from.
\"I looked outside to see if she would be a cat in our garden and I was looking everywhere.
\"I suddenly realized that it came from under the counter-one of them was in the machine-but I don\'t know which one it was.
\"I started screaming for my husband and luckily the machine was off right away.
\"He said it was Gracie, pulled her out and wrapped her up with a towel-she was wet and frightened.
\"If I turn on the radio and can\'t hear her, or if I go out, I can\'t think what\'s going to happen.
\"I can\'t believe it-I have never been so terrible in my life.
\"She\'s a little miracle. I\'m glad she came home.
Jackie had just returned from the gym in December 2018 when she decided to wash a lot of clothes.
She is at home with her 51-year-old husband, Cliff, who is head of the new harbor Council in the gardening department, and their two cats, Gray West and Lily, are four.
Jackie said: \"I threw the clothes in the washing machine, but there were only a few pieces, so I needed to put some more.
\"I stripped my bed and threw it in too, I remember seeing the cat in the house, but somehow, between the things I added, Gracie must have
\"Maybe she smelled the bedding or something inside attracted her because she had never been in the washing machine before-otherwise I would check if she was inside.
\"I was shuttling between the grocery room where the washing machine was located and the kitchen where I was making dinner, so I didn\'t mind going in and looking.
Jackie closed the auto-locked door, but a few minutes later she heard the sad cry of Gracie from the washing machine.
Jackie and her husband, Cliff, rushed to the vet at pontipur, where they posted devastating news that their beloved cat might not be able to succeed.
\"The vet thinks she won\'t succeed,\" Jackie said.
They say she may have brain damage and fluid in her lungs.
\"They even talked to my husband about the option of cremation and put her down-we were all in trouble.
But Gracie suddenly looked up and began to respond, and the vet took back what they said and asked us to see another vet.
Jackie and Cliff found a second vet in Newport, where Gracie was dropped and observed overnight.
The next day, Gracie was stable enough to be discharged from the hospital and Jackie and Cliff left a visit fee of £ 500.
Jackie wants to warn other pet owners of the dangers of electrical appliances.
She said: \"It was like nothing happened when Gracie got home-it was a miracle.
\"You will never believe that the same cat I pulled out of the machine, we thought we had lost her, but I\'m glad she was fine.
\"We put her in the living room and she was very nice-just like nothing happened.
\"She won\'t be close to the washing machine again though, and every time I wash my clothes I make sure to do a cat count once, which makes me very paranoid.
\"I want to make sure other pet owners are very careful with the appliances.
