Brush anti-pinch device The brush anti-pinch device consists of two parts, namely the base and the brush. The base must be a good unit structure, no danger is allowed, and it can be easily removed without hurting people. Its surface should be free of dirt, no fire hazard, no sharp edges, and should be firm and not broken. The brush should be soft, not hurt the clothes, and have a certain degree of hardness. The brush should be able to recover after the passenger's shoes are touched. The best installation position of the brush anti-pinch device is about 5mm in front of the comb plate at the entrance and exit of the escalator. The height should be about 50mm above the steps at the entrance and exit of the escalator. The brush anti-pinch device jointly developed by the British Kleeneze Ltd. and the London Underground Company was installed on 300 escalators on the London Underground. In the 14 years from 1981 to 1995, there were accidents involving people trapped in the gaps on both sides of the escalator steps. Zero, and before that, there were about 40 accidents involving people trapped each year. In the United States, there are also reports of obtaining the same effect. It can be seen that the effect of the brush anti-pinch device is obvious. Regarding the safety standards for anti-pinch on both sides of the steps, the United Kingdom has published a large number of articles on the safety of passenger escalators in the past 10 years. The HSH Health and Safety Executive Agency, the British labor protection agency, participated in the work of improving the safety equipment of escalators and proposed to install them. The brush anti-pinch device is required, and the design guideline PM34 has been formulated. PM34 is the same as the original BS5656 'Safety Code for the Manufacturing and Installation of Escalators and Moving Walks' (BS5656 has been replaced by EU EN115-1995 'Safety Code for Escalators'). Although there is no mention of the anti-pinch device in the A17.1 specification of the United States, there are safety requirements in this regard in some state regulations. Therefore, American-made escalators are equipped with anti-pinch padding or brush devices on the aprons on both sides of the steps to ensure the safety of passengers. The European Union’s EN115-1995 'Safety Code for Escalators' complies with the basic safety standards of the EC Machinery Design Guidelines and clearly requires that escalators should be equipped with anti-pinch devices. Article 6.1.5.6 of the Singapore Standard CP15:1990 stipulates that the escalator must be equipped with an anti-pinch device. After implementation, it has been shown that its safety is much better than the original yellow line only at the step boundary. In Article 3.6.10.1 of the revised Australian Standard AS1735.5, there are similar safety protection requirements for anti-pinch devices, and it is stipulated that yellow borders should be added on both sides of the steps. Section 1.1.5.5 of the Hong Kong regional standard stipulates: 'The installation of anti-pinch devices between the left and right ends of the steps and the apron board can reduce the risk of accidents...Location. In my country, Article 5.1.5.6.3 of GB16899-1997 'Safety Code for the Manufacturing and Installation of Escalators and Moving Walks' clearly stipulates that 'appropriate anti-pinch devices' are added to ensure the safety of passengers. But this clause is constructive and not mandatory. We believe that if you want to prevent injury accidents caused by the gaps on both sides of the steps, you must install anti-pinch devices.
